Stereolithography
SLA printing is a technology based on photopolymerisation f a resin contained in a tub on which a laser ray emits an ultraviolet radiation. The resin is sensitive to this radiation and draws shapes, layer by layer, with high precision.
It is used in all those projects that require high precision. Thanks to stereolithography it is possible to realize complex shapes having a high degree of transparency. These characteristics render the material suitable in the production of models in the automotive sector, in the medical sector and in electronics: in particular lenses and car lights, packaging, models for silicon moulds, tests in wind tunnels, quick cast patterns. The models realized with resin thanks to stereolithography maintain an excellent dimensional stability over time and some functional characteristics that make them one of the most requested materials for prototypes.
Products printed through SLA have an excellent response to surface finish like sanding and coating and constitute a proper support for the application of metal inserts and thread.
